Maritime Law

Maritime conflicts can be caused by disputes over commerce, navigation, pollution, seafarers’ rights in various jurisdictions, over-fishing, maritime construction, insurance issues, maritime boundaries and more.

Even though ‘the law of the sea’ is an internationally recognized body of laws meant to maintain peace and fair dealings on the world’s seas, there are many country-specific laws which regulate the use of local waters.

The Qatari Maritime Transport Sector oversees licensing rules, admission of local and foreign vessels, certification and recertification of foreign shipmasters, engineers and crews, port development, safety practices, adherence to local and international laws, among others.

Our team is highly skilled at dealing with various issues our sea-bound clients may have at port-of-entry or -exit.
